Staffroom for Improvement 2017

  1. Entry into ‘Staffroom for Improvement’ promotion (Promotion) is deemed acceptance of these Conditions of Entry by each entrant.
  2. Entry into the Promotion is open to Queensland Primary and Secondary Schools listed on Education Queensland’s website under the ‘Directories’ tab by clicking on ‘Schools Directory’.
  3. Entry into the individual participants’ promotion is open to entrants who register on the Staffroom for Improvement website.
  4. To be eligible for the Promotion, a person must visit, select the school they wish to give tokens to and provide the required information.
  5. Registration must be validated by actioning the link sent to the participants email address after the registration form has been completed.
  6. Only one account per individual participant is allowed. All tokens given will be audited and any school who is found to have participants with multiple email accounts will be disqualified from the competition.
  7. All previous winners of the ‘Staffroom for Improvement’ competition conducted by the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
  8. The Promotion commences at 9:00am on Thursday, 24 August 2017 and closes at Friday 1 September 2017 at 12noon (Promotional Period).
  9. The school with the most number of tokens after being weighted against the number of students at the school will win a staffroom makeover up to the value of $20,000 (First Prize). Only one staffroom at the winning school will receive a makeover.
  10. The first three runners up at the end of the promotion period will receive a prize pack valued at $1,000. The first-place winner and three runners-up will be announced by 6 September 2017 at QT Mutual Bank, Level 10, 60 Edward Street,  Brisbane City QLD 4000. The winning school’s will be notified by phone and email.  Their name will also be published on the Staffroom for Improvement website on Wednesday 6 September 2017. Offer valid until 24 September unless otherwise withdrawn earlier
  11. The maximum cost of the First Prize will not exceed $20,000 (including GST) and is inclusive of travel costs, labour and goods purchased to fit out the room. The maximum cost of the runners up prizes  will not exceed $3,000 (including GST)
  12. The prize money for the First Prize ($20,000 including GST) will be transferred to the winning school within 30 days of the announcement of the winner. It is a condition of entry that these funds will be used to fitout one staffroom only, with before and after photos to be taken by QT Mutual Bank for promotional purposes. Schools must organise and purchase all labour, goods and anything else necessary to complete the staffroom makeover for the First Prize.
  13. All reasonable steps to notify the winner of the results of the competition will be taken by the Promoter. The Promoter’s decision on all matters relating to the prize draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner of any of the prizes must claim the prize within three (3) months from the date of notification otherwise the prize is forfeited. If the First Prize or a Runner-up Prize is unclaimed, the school or individual with the next most tokens given after initial winner will become the winner of the unclaimed prize. For any unclaimed Participant Prize, further draws will be conducted at Level 10, 60 Edward Street Brisbane QLD 4000 and in the same manner as the original draw. The winner of any unclaimed prize draw will be notified by email and/or telephone.
  14. The prizes are not transferable, refundable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.
  15. The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrants’ personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy available on its Internet site at
  16. The prize winner acknowledges that the prize, or any component of the prize, may be subject to the standard terms and conditions of the individual prize supplier(s) and may be subject to additional terms and conditions imposed by third parties. The winner must become acquainted with any such additional terms and conditions prior to accepting the prize. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility and is not liable for any additional conditions imposed on the taking of the prize by third parties, or for the breach of those conditions by any person. The acceptance of the prize creates a relationship between the prize winner and the individual prize supplier(s) and the Promoter is not responsible for, and accepts no liability in relation to, any loss, damage or claim that may be incurred by the prize winner as a result of the prize winner’s decision to accept the prize.
  17. In participating in the prize activity, the winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to this promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed, video-recorded and photographed. The winner agrees to grant the Promoter and its related entities a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use such audio, footage and/or photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use. The winner agrees that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story, video and/or photographs to any media or other organisation. It is a condition of accepting any of the prizes that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
  18. Entrants consent to the Promoter and its related entities using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a prize winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting the promotion (including any outcome), and promoting products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter or its related entities.
  19. The Promoter will use its best endeavours to provide the prize as listed. If the prize (or any element of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize of equivalent value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
  20. If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation in Queensland as may be required.
  21. Without limiting any other paragraph, the Promoter may at its discretion amend any aspect of this competition or these terms, subject to applicable laws and subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.
  22. The Promoter, its related entities, and the directors, officers, management, employees and other staff of the Promoter and its related entities (Promoter’s Agents) will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize(s) or entering into this competition. The Promoter and the Promoter’s Agents make no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods or services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and the Promoter’s Agents are not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter or the Promoter’s Agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the prize winner and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize winners.
  23. If, notwithstanding the above, the Promoter or the Promoter’s Agents are found to be liable to any person in connection with this competition the Promoter’s and the Promoter’s Agents’ maximum aggregate liability is limited to $1.00.
  24. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter and the Promoter’s Agents will not be liable to any person for indirect or consequential loss or damage suffered by any person in connection with the entering the competition, or as a result of taking the prize. This applies to all claims, whether such claims are made in tort (including without limitation negligence), in equity, under statute or any other basis.
  25. The laws of Queensland govern the Promoter’s competitions.

Facebook competitions

  1. The Facebook competition is open to followers of the QT Mutual Bank Facebook page.
  2. By entering this competition entrants agree to a complete release of Facebook from any or all liability about this content.
  3. Directors, officers, management, employees and other staff (and the immediate families of directors, officers, management, employees and other staff) of the Promoter, related entities and agents of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or otherwise improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
  5. The competition commences at 09:00am Thursday, 24 August 2017 and closes at noon Friday 1 September 2017 (Promotion Period). Each individual daily question commences from the time it is posted until the time stated in the post.
  6. Eligible entrants may enter this competition by commenting on the daily QT Mutual Bank Staffroom for Improvement post question. The comment will include the correct or most creative answer to the post question. As per the discretion of the promoter.
  7. Only one entry per entrant per questions is permitted and only one prize will be awarded to each winner.
  8. All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
  9. The competition will be drawn the following day during the competition period for the question from the day prior. The competition winners will be drawn at 10:00am at Level 10, 60 Edward Street, Brisbane 4000 by the QT Mutual Bank marketing team. Winners will be notified by 10.30am each day following the competition.

  11. There will be six winners during the competition period who will be selected at random The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into a redraw.
  12. A prize pool of $240 will be awarded to individual participants during the competition period on the QT Mutual Bank Facebook page. Winners will be drawn at random.
